Overview

More than a competition

The Komodo Global Round is the flagship, in-person finale of the Komodo International Math Competition. It gathers the best young mathematicians from around the world in Bali, Indonesia — a destination renowned for its warmth, beauty, and rich culture — to compete, collaborate, and celebrate mathematics together.

More than a competition, the Global Round is a full immersive experience. Between the exam, math challenges, and awarding ceremony, participants explore Bali's temples, beaches, mountains, and villages, and make friendships that span continents.

Four pathways to Bali

Participation in the Global Round is by qualification only. Four routes lead to Bali.

Komodo Online Round Medalists
All Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Honorable Mention awardees from any of the three Online Round sessions qualify. Absolute Winners are automatically eligible.

All Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Honorable Mention awardees from the Local Round — across all participating countries — qualify for the Global Round.

Fast Track Exam Qualifiers
An alternative online qualification route for students who missed the Online or Local Rounds but still wish to participate in the Global Round.

Partner Competition Finalists
Finalists of NextGen Math, Angkor Mathematics Competition, YMC, EMC, German Mathematical Olympiad, and other partner competitions are automatically invited.
Multiple qualifications: If you qualify through more than one pathway, the highest-tier medal applies for your Global Round discount calculation.

Passing Criteria

The passing score for each category is determined based on the lowest score that achieved an Honorable Mention award in the previous Online Rounds. This minimum score varies depending on the competition category.

The exact passing threshold will be announced after the last Online Round (19 December 2026).

Fast Track qualifiers are eligible for the Global Round but do not receive a medal discount on the registration fee.

Arrive early
Participants must be seated at least 30 minutes before the exam.
Bring identification
Passport or government-issued ID, plus your Komodo participant badge.
Writing materials
Pencils, pens, eraser. Scratch paper is provided. No calculators or electronics.
Language support
Request a translated exam (ID, RU, or ES) at the time of registration.
Academic integrity
Any cheating or use of unauthorized materials results in disqualification.

Math Challenges

Short, creative, interactive math games conducted alongside the awarding ceremony. Participants team up across categories and countries to solve puzzles, compete in speed rounds, and win Special Prizes.

Code of conduct

All participants, parents, and chaperones are expected to follow the Komodo Code of Conduct for a safe, respectful experience.

Academic Integrity
No cheating, plagiarism, or unauthorized materials during the exam
No communication with other participants during the exam
No electronic devices during the exam
Respect for Others
Treat all participants, staff, guides, and community members with respect
No harassment, bullying, or discriminatory behavior
Respect cultural differences and local customs, especially at religious sites
Safety & Responsibility
Stay with the group during all excursions
Follow instructions from Eduversal staff and tour guides
Report safety concerns immediately; respect curfew at the hotel
Environmental Respect
Do not litter or damage plants, rocks, or structures at any site
Follow Leave No Trace principles at natural sites
Respect wildlife — observe from a distance, do not feed
Consequences: Violations may result in exclusion from activities, disqualification from the competition, and in serious cases, removal from the program at the family's expense. All participants and families will acknowledge the Code of Conduct during registration.
